Fourth time we have visited this pub over the years whilst on holiday. Fabulous country setting, locals very friendly. Beer good. Food delicious. Tonight, they missed serving my husbands starter, which we said really didn't matter. However, the landlord insisted he had a free desert as compensation ? Thank you, Taly Ho, we will be back.

Just moved to the area and thought we would give this lovely pub a try for dinner on Saturday night… and it did not disappoint. Lovely country pub atmosphere, wonderfully tasty food (generous portions too!) and great value for money. We will definitely be back! Thank you.

Absolutely delicious gelato! When you see a queue outside a shop you know it’s going to be good. Friendly service and an excellent selection of delicious flavours. My wife went for cherry and pistachio (separate flavours), which is a classic combination apparently, while my selection of caramel and hazelnut was not such a classic, though still amazingly delicious!

A lovely and different experience. We arrived without a booking for an early evening meal. After telling us they were fully booked the staff still managed to accomodate us which was great as we had travelled over an hour to get there.

Food choice was surprise suprise "pies". you could have your traditional meat/veg pie of try their 2in1 pie which is half cauliflower and half whatever meat you have chosen. Pies were tasty but not outstanding. The only complaint would be wine quality could have been better. Its not a cheap eat but worth it for the expereince. Just be ware the map is going to take you through very narrow roads so if you are not used to it you need to be careful.

Outstanding food, lovely ambience and top service. very happy with our 1st and won't be our last visit. The resturant itself is lovely and cosy. However the artwork we feel in this setting did not go with the deco or feel of the place and possibly needs a rethink. However, 10/10 for food and great service.

My char grilled steak was perfectly and it was all lovely
The waitress clearly enjoys her job as she was all smiles and made us feel very welcome and looked after This is the second time I’ve gone here and certainly not the last
Definitely recommend and they seem to serve food at times other pubs have their kitchen closed
Opening early for people to eat straight after work in the way home it ticks lots of boxes

Really nice little cafe tucked away. Owner was really welcoming and accommodating and the toasties were lovely. Really nice homemade coleslaw too. Quirky dishware which was a nice touch. Becomes a pop up burger bar in the evenings but we were welcome to stay and drink our teas after change over. Really recommend as a tonic to gentrified chain coffee shops.

Wheelchair accessibility: Level access for wheelchair users with space to manoeuvre. No disabled WC that I saw.

Lovely little pub. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of food, opted for the rump steak and would thoroughly recommend it. Good size portions, and good value for money. First time there, and certainly won't be the last.

Happened upon this gem when visiting totnes on holiday. Lovely welcoming vibe, gorgeous salads and veggie delights buffet style in big bowls to help yourself. One price per plate (11.95) and can visit for seconds.. although we were so full we didn’t need to! Good value. Just gorgeous plant food and was the highlight of our visit.

6 adults 3 kids 9 different meals all arrived together on time and each one was perfect
Great range of choices for all tastes
Service was excellent attentive but not forced
This is a lovelly place for a very nice meal at a reasonable price

Stayed at the inn here, room was lovely, clean, and had mix of coffee and teas. Easy access after the pub had closed, really friendly staff and good breakfast in the morning. Would visit again.

The chef in here ex Saint John In London and ex Seahorse In Dartmouth. It’s probably the best food that I’ve eaten in the last 10 years. Ask him for the monkfish or the beef with dripping or if you’re very very lucky, see if you can get him to make you the squid.
