Dream turkish kitchen
12 Mill St, KingsbridgeLovely to have something "out of the norm" for kingsbridge! Fantastic food, large portions and all at a great price. The decor inside was really nice and loving the music mix! If i could find one negative then maybe the service was a bit slow at the end when it came to paying (especially as there was no one else in the restaurant) bit service throughout was great!

The Old Bakery
Promenade, KingsbridgeWe ate here on the first night of our holiday and so glad we did. We ate early (6.45pm) and it filled up quite quickly after 7pm. The range of tapas options was great, with different food styles and flavours from around the world. We ordered 6 dishes, no bread, with the intention of having dessert, but we were too full. Never mind what we had was delicious! The wine by the glass was also very good. £80 total, including tip.

The Pigs Nose Inn
The Pigs Nose Inn, East Prawle, KingsbridgeDelicious food (thanks chef) great service at the bar, warm and cosy, friendly atmosphere. Old pubs like these are traditionally carrying out a duty to serve the public (village workers, farmers, fishermen) and we shouldn’t forget it takes a kind heart to open what is effectively their home, to the general public to entertain and feed us. We have such a high expectation these days of what service should “look” like. I find this place as authentic and I can see the efforts the owners have made to make the pub feel comfortable in terms of decor but even the service, which is relaxed and easy (how pubs were at times when this one was built). So many comments about how this place “is like how pubs used to be”.
Please don’t let the character of this place dwindle over time. We don’t want to come into someone’s on-trend living room which looks like every other page in every issue of the house & gardens magazine… it’s the quirks which make this place truly like no other!

Queens Arms
Slapton, KingsbridgeWe have been staying in Stokenham for a week and have eaten here three times!
Great, old fashioned, traditional village pub! What we call a proper pub! Very hard to come by these days.
The food is delicious and fresh, not like a lot of pretentious pubs these days serving fancy restaurant food. Nothing wrong with that, but when we want it we'll go to a restaurant! It has very traditional, hearty and homecooked fayre, just like pubs used to serve. Just recovering from a very filling Sunday lunch.Thank you it was delicious. We will definitely return if we're in the area again

The Tower Inn
Slapton, KingsbridgeThird time we have been here and it was a wonderful experience again. The old pub is a special place in itself with good beer and a cosy atmosphere, but the staff are always welcoming, friendly and chatty and service is first class. We have a child with an allergy plus a dog in tow and we’re all always well looked after.
For years the team have made the best of a stupid situation with their kitchen being destroyed and their knobber of an insurance company seemingly doing whatever they can not to help. The kitchen is still a makeshift grotto in the car park, which makes the fact the food is outstanding, piping hot and quick to table just amazing. The chef is a friendly French magician who made us a perfect sirloin steak with classic, perfect pepper sauce and a confit duck. Burgers for the kids were spot on too. We love the Tower Inn and we wish them all the best in their battle to restore the kitchen - but I bet a fair few of us will miss the magic box of tricks in the car park and being able to wander over and say a proper thank you to the chef.

Oasis Sandwich Bar
72 Fore St, KingsbridgeAbsolute diamond of a place since the young couple who have taken it on started working. The options for people with allergens are superb, coeliac, dairy-free etc. And their willingness to help and try new things is second to none. It means that we are now using this place as much as we can for a cracking lunch.

The Regal
Church St, KingsbridgeOne of the best places to have a meal and a drink in KB. Friendly staff, friendly clientele and an amazing atmosphere, let alone in the smoking area. Big TVs for major sporting events, a wide selection of drinks ( I advise the house red ) a great stage for the Saturday night disco and plenty of good vibes ? ✌?

The Millbrook Inn
South Pool, KingsbridgeAbsolute perfection for a Sunday Roast - perfectly cooked beef, a huge portion of pork and crackling, brilliant Yorkshire pudding, our favourite veg perfectly roasted - red cabbage, carrot, parsnip and cauliflower cheese to die for! Super yummy pudding too - warm chocolate tart and raspberry sorbet! Who says you can’t have quality and quantity?!

Charleton Way, West Charleton, KingsbridgeCan’t fault this little gem…the atmosphere that Lou and team created the time they stop and chat to you…the food though is something else. I love food! Roast dinners especially and iv never had a roast this good ever! In fact since that said roast iv not tried cooking one as it was that insane what’s the point…tonight I had the chicken liver parfait to start that honestly I could just live on…I told Lou I’d like to just have it on tap! It’s so smooth and sooo good. My steak was was perfectly cooked and can’t fault it but that chicken liver parfait I want again and again well done guys and hats off chef…you know your stuff…good luck with the move. Fika Coffee House
Quay House, 1 Bridge, The Quay, KingsbridgeWhere do I start?! The coffee is fantastic and the smoothies are fabulous! They’re consistent in their ingredients so you know what to expect every time. This is what makes this cafe great, it’s a hard thing to master, the best cafes in the world know that success is about consistency.
The owner is always there with a smile to greet you, as are her other members of staff who are always polite and calm. The cakes are occasionally made by her very talented daughter - who may I say is a real credit to FIKA because they are DELICIOUS and look worthy of a cake magazine!
What I do want to mention though, and I’m sure this isn’t always the case, other customers can be very impatient and stand close to you in the queue, this is nothing to do with the business I know. One diner yelled at the lady behind the counter and demanded “how long are my scrambled eggs going to be”. I was gobsmasked at such behaviour from a grown adult.. my two children would be better behaved than this. But as I’m learning, this is common practice by the locals here in Kingsbridge. But I have to say, the girl behind the counter took it on her chin and responded very calmly and professionally! Hats off to you at FIKA for all of your hard work! You are fantastic! And loved by so many! ?☺️☀️✨
