The Ship Inn
Ugborough, IvybridgeFirst visit to The Ship.
Fantastic evening meal and great calm atmosphere. The location is also beautiful. Sincere thanks to Pete who recommended the Sea Bass with his own creative twist including a sauce. It was the very best Sea Bass I’ve ever had ( I like Sea Bass ). Talented chef for sure.
Excellent accompanying wine list with very reasonable pricing. Highly recommended. Thank you team Ship ⭐️

The Westward Inn
Lee Mill Bridge, IvybridgeWell, what can I say, random lunch stop, and what a find.... the service and the food were amazing. I couldn't fault either of them. My only issue was the drinks on the pump, not to my liking, but it wasn't enough to stop me loving my lunch, and I would definitely visit again.

The Watermark
The Watermark Erme Court, Leonards Rd, IvybridgeI went to the Watermark with a friend to see a film. We had a light lunch first, a reasonable choice of food and enjoyable. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming with friendly helpful staff. The only criticism is a lack of leg space in the cinema. My friend has long legs and struggled. I would recommend booking a sofa at the front if available.

The Royal Gurkha Spice
9 Broad St, Modbury, IvybridgeA culinary experience like no other. The Royal Gurkha Spice is easily the best curry house in Modbury, if not the South Hams. Raj treats each one of his customers like a long lost relative. No ask is too great, no desire goes unquenched. They say the Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. I say it is the Raj Mahal.
I teared up, overcome with emotion at this evening's service, but it may have been the chilli pepper I mistook for a green bean.

Golden Bridge
34 Fore St, IvybridgeAll in all not a bad Chinese takeaway. However, the special curry could have been thicker and slightly spicier, the chips were overcooked frozen chips so not great and even though the ribs tasted ok I have seen more meat on a butchers pencil. Nice big L shaped couch in the waiting area otherwise quite a melancholy, vacuous space.

Plantation House
Totnes Road, Ermington, IvybridgeAbsolutely fabulous dinner at this gem of a place! Richard and the team were wonderful hosts. The food was beautifully presented and it tasted delicious. We've been passing this place in the car for years and years and we're so pleased that we eventually booked up! We will definitely be back!

White Hart Hotel
2 Church St, Modbury, IvybridgePopped in on the way to Salcombe, what a fantastic find!! Had a couple of beers and I had a steak sandwich whilst my mate had Bubble & Squeak, both of which we enjoyed, my steak was perfect, which if I'm all honest I was sure whether to pick, but, was effortless to eat, side of crisps as well. Very friendly staff, chatty etc, it was quiet when we arrived as around 3, or just before, but I can imagine this would be quite lively especially if the food is to go on. Definatley visit again if I pass, but would recommend it

The Modbury Inn
Brownston St, Modbury, IvybridgeWe came for a family dinner on our holiday and had an amazing dinner. The service was really friendly and the food was very tasty too, we would definitely visit again if in the area. A special mention goes to the staff, as they were very accommodating with explaining which foods could be made gluten free and I had a gluten free fish and chips which was delicious!

The Ivy Fishhouse
42 Fore St, IvybridgeYou know that somewhere is good if it is full of locals! This place was busy, but it still did not take long to be served. They were very cheerful and helpful, and the hot chips were lovely. Unfortunately, they were unable to help with combining Vegan food with wheat free, so we were only able to eat the chips. But they were very kind in checking to see if they could offer us more. We'd pop in for the chips again next time we were in the area, but would have to look elsewhere for a full meal, as it needs to be Vegan AND wheat free for us.

Countryman's Choice Farm Shop and Restaurant
Cadleigh Park, IvybridgeIt’s good but is a bit tired. The ordering system offered via the QR codes on the outside tables also doesn’t allow Apple Pay… seems quite odd and easily fixable? When I asked the staff I was just told with a shrug that it doesn’t work. Other than that it’s good for kids and there is a decent selection of food in the cafe and the farm shop.

Ivybridge Brewing Company
Unit 3, Glanvilles Mill, IvybridgeWe visited the brewery with our family just recently as we were on holiday in the area. We all were given an overview of how beer was produced on site, which was very interesting. The bar was not open, which looked pretty cool, but we were able to buy several different types of beer which we all supped over the next couple of days. We all agreed that the beers were top notch, some of the best I have tried!
