Dolphin St, ColytonI found the Bear Bread & Bakery on a booking site. I needed to get away, I was burnt out to f"£". I felt welcome & at home. The William Morris room is perfect, a writing desk by the window where I journaled, THE most conformable bed I have ever slept in.
The morning, which I don't do well was filled with chat from B&B ers & locals picking up their coffee, even I was happy to join in.
On my second night, I slept for 10 hours, so comfortable was the bed
The breakfast was generous to the point one does not need anything until supper.

White Hart Inn
Swan Hill Rd, Colyford, ColytonMy weekly day out took me a little further from home than usual. Train to Exeter and bus to Seaton for a day on the tramway. Stopped off here for lunch. Not busy, just as I like it. I had gammon, eggs, chips and peas. Portion size was generous, and importantly, it was hot when it arrived. Prompt service from the lady behind the bar.

Dalwood, AxminsterWe had roast lamb and pork and even the dog had her own dinner , gorgeous food and plenty of it , freindly staff , nothing was too much trouble . We will definitely be back

The Gerrard Arms
St Andrew's Square, ColytonFood is incredible! And it’s a great local pub. Everyone at the bar was chatty and welcoming.
Service in the restaurant is a little slower as I think the chef does everything and the night we went the Kitchen Porter hadn’t turned up and the waiting staff were doing both!
But the food did make up for it!
I would definitely go back.

Colyton Takeaway
2 Market Pl, ColytonFantastic takeaway. The fish and chips were the best, by far, we've had on our holiday. Service was great, very friendly and chatted while waiting for our order to be freshly cooked. Note that they don't take card payments but not an issue as a quick run over there road to the post office to get some cash.Can't recommend this highly enough.Parking: Car park a two minute walk away if nearby street parking unavailable

The Kingfisher Public House
Dolphin St, ColytonOh! What a wonderful find The Kingfisher Arms is. As a solo female there were no funny looks or chances. I felt very safe. I had great chats with people at the bar, & from the staff. I ate here two nights on the bounce & this morning people in my B & B were rightly raving about the food & atmosphere. The crab sandwich is something to behold.
