Fabulous rare beef open sandwich- sooo good . Just called in and finding a table was pretty easy on a Saturday lunchtime.
3 of us had soup and sandwich (beef) - a beef burger too. We also share some starters. Delicious and satisfying. We were all very impressed.

Our daughter arranged an afternoon tea for family from 100 miles away, for a 70th birthday. The staff co-operated fully to ensure that even if she was held up on the M1, she would be able to collect the teas ready for the family gathering. There was so much food and all was absolutely delicious. The delicatessen took the stress away from her and enabled everyone to have a good time. Thank you so much!

Food arrived much quicker than the estimate given (t'was a Saturday after all so l was prepared to wait) and when it did come it was delish!

I've tried other Indian-inspired cuisines in the area and this one will be my go to from now on!

We have dined at The Angel a few times over the years, but not in the last 18 months. On looking at some recent reviews I was apprehensive about visiting and so was wonderfully surprised with our delicious experience. I had the gammon which was well cooked and with a full selection of complimentary additions. The chips and onion rings were particularly good. The puddings were tasty and a generous size with each course being served at a gentle pace so that we didn’t feel rushed to order nor eat. The staff were very cheerful and helpful especially with the little changes that we requested to one or two items. Not many people there today so was very quiet. Thank you all at The Angel.

Extremely attentive staff, would give 6 stars if I could. The food was excellent, generous portions all perfectly cooked. I have to admit Indian isn't usually my thing, but I will be going back for more! The only criticism I could offer (and it's personal choice) is the background music was just a tiny bit too loud for me, but I'm really grasping for negatives there. Excellent restaurant, well worth a visit.

We r regularly visit here for a carvery. No complain about the food.. Staff are friendly.. But the main big problem is that there are only 3 Disable parking bays. N the rest of the car park is about 50. We have been booked twice n there's nowhere to park, then we had to leave.. Please make at least 10 Disable parking bays..

Great, old fashioned (in a good way !), comfortable, country pub on the main road from Dronfield through Holmsfield. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Good car park.
Outdoor seating.
Sells Carling so I know my husband will definitely be back.
Walked past many times, but never visited before, although it always seems very popular.
Dogs seemed to be welcome.
Check opening times before visiting .

went up for the Quiz night to alleviate the boredom of my hotel. Had a great night. The locals and the staff were extremely friendly and chatted away freely. its a proper pub with some nice ales and ciders. Highly recommend a visit if you are passing through or staying in the area.

Absolutely fantastic pub , a true hidden gem. The food choices here are fantastic, but down to earth. It's real food you really want to eat , in a cosy environment. Be sure to order something from their insanely good cheese board menu - so many options !
We loved their stew in a fresh crusty bread loaf, nachos , fish fingers sarnies and small plates too - you can't go wrong ! 10/10

Ayeshas Authentic Indian Restaurant & Takeaway

On arriving, we sat down in front of the bar. We were there for a while until we were asked to confirm who we were and a drinks order was taken. After this our food order was taken. We then waited a while for a table, though we were given updates regarding how long we would have to wait, which was good, though the escort to our table tended to feel somewhat rushed. On seating ourselves, again we waited a while to be served, though granted it was a busy Friday night. Then cutlery and plates were placed on our table somewhat roughly, an audible noise as plates hit the table for instance. A little later our order was served. Again this was put on the table somewhat brusquely, mushrooms almost falling off the plate of mushroom pilau. However, on tasting the food, it was found to be flavoursome and well cooked, though my Bhuna was a little cool. Toward the end, we ordered two more bottles of the excellent "Black Sheep" which were brought quickly. On the whole, we enjoyed ourselves and felt we'd had a worthwhile evening at a reasonable price and decided that we may visit again.

Came here after a long hike in the Peak District with our dog to watch the England game. The landlord and landlady were lovely and although we weren’t from the area everyone made us feel welcome. Very fair priced drinks and a lovely friendly atmosphere.
