Sun Inn
The Rake, Bassenthwaite, KeswickThe Sun Inn is located in the quaint village of Bassenthwaite, and is the beating heart of the village. It's cosy interior is very inviting and its friendly staff add to the welcoming atmosphere. It offers a good selection of drinks including local beers and ales and the food is delicious. The menu caters for most tastes and they always have mouth watering specials available, and these change regularly. Remember to book though, it gets busy with locals, and that is the sign of a good pub with good grub. Dog friendly pub, with a large beer garden outside too for those sunny days. Has its own small car park, with limited spaces, but parking can be found elsewhere in the village in some places. If you like a Quiz Night too, then the middle Sunday is usually when they occur. I can't resist a good pub quiz, and a Sticky Toffee Pudding. You'll struggle to find food as good at an affordable price in a great setting so close to the nearby lakes and fells. Plenty of great walks nearby too, to walk off that Sunday Roast.

The Snooty Fox Country Inn
Uldale, WigtonWe’ve been to The Snooty Fox at least five times now and we absolutely love it. Would go as far to say it’s the best pub food I’ve ever had. The chicken and ham pie is incredible (and amazing portion size) and the burgers I’ve had have been so good. The staff are always really lovely too which makes it a pleasure to visit. We can’t wait to come back again in the Summer.
