The Sun Inn
Rivermead, Newton Reigny, PenrithProbably the best food I've eaten for a long long time! The vegetarian bangers (4 off!) and mash, with other seasonal veg was beautifully cooked, presented and tasted utterly delicious. There's no complaints over portion size and it was reasonably priced too. The pub had a great friendly atmosphere and the staff were really welcoming too. A great pub, I'd definitely recommend and visit again. (The desserts sounded good but I couldn't eat another thing!)
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian bangers with lots of mashed potato, garden peas and swede.

The Clickham Inn
B5288, PenrithWe went for a drink on a Saturday afternoon, which turned into a meal. The staff were very helpful and squeezed us in although they were due be busy with bookings. The food was fantastic and very prompt. I had a chicken and ham pie that was delicious with great pastry. Would definitely go there to eat again.

The Boot & Shoe Inn
Greystoke, PenrithThe staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast server was very jolly which was nice to see, and the breakfast was excellent, with plenty of breakfast beverages, tea/coffee, juice, etc.
The room was lovely, with historic decor, beams, partial stone wall, and classic looking.
The landing and rooms have interesting Tarzan wall art.
Rooms: There was a bath, not a shower, which may be important if you are considering a booking.
The water temperature was warm/tepid, not a huge problem, but something to consider.
