Restaurants in Kirkby Stephen

The Black Bull at Nateby
Nateby, Kirkby StephenWe stayed at the Black Bull exactly 10 years ago and enjoyed ourselves that much we had to return. Notwithstanding a change of ownership we were pleased to find the same high standards we remembered. There is nothing we can add to the positive comments other reviewers have left with regard to the staff, room, breakfast, evening meal - and beers.
Noteworthy details: Good base for exploring the Dales by car, motorbike, cycle or foot.

The Bay Horse Winton
The Bay Horse, Winton, Kirkby StephenWe visited the Bay Horse during our stay at the near by Gillcumber Glamping Pods. The pub is a 10 minute walk away (bring a torch as no street lights)
The welcome was very warm and the service was excellent, very friendly and efficient. The area we were sat was very cosy and relaxed feeling.
The food was excellent quality, with very generous portions. My starter of duck with a pea and mint salad was very fresh and flavourful, and my main of bass was perfectly cooked and enhanced further by the best tempura prawns I've ever had. My husband and I also managed to squeeze in a sticky toffee pudding which was clearly homemade.
Would recommend wholeheartedly.

Century Chinese Restaurant
Market Square, Kirkby StephenJust had the best Chinese meal I've had for a very long time. The food was excellent and the service first class.
Mixed starters, Singapore noodles, and never before tried honey garlic chicken. All the meat was well cooked, succulent and tender with tasty sauces.
Thanks for a great evening.

Archway Fish & Chips
36 Market St, Kirkby StephenFriendly staff and welcoming when I entered. The staff allowed me to look at the menu before ordering and where not pushing for a sale. The food ordered was cooked from fresh. The fish was excellent and tasted lovely. Food was still hot returning to the campsite. Our dog loved his battered sausage and gravy also, so highly recommend this Fish & Chip shop if you are in the area.Parking: Parking was just on the high street in bays. Very close to the chip shop

Brysons Bakery & Coffee Shop
37 Market St, Kirkby StephenPassing bye at lunch today (Appleby) purchase a sandwich and cup of tea, served by a lovely lady think she may have been Spanish, she was smiling, friendly and polite, she even squeezed the teabag out for me, usually it gets left in when you buy a tea to take away. All in all very good.
