Main St, TunstallWent today for Sunday lunch and it was so very good. Meat was tender, lots of veg, tasty gravy and the best cauliflower cheese. I had lamb and a gorgeous glass of Malbe and hubby had pork, both were delicious. We shared the trio of desserts which included lemon posset, chocolate ganache with raspberry sorbet and mango Panna cottage, delicious!Reasonably priced for the quality. We will be back for sure.

9 Market St, Kirkby Lonsdale, CarnforthWe chose to dine in number nine as a large group for a birthday celebration, all the dishes we had were amazing, creative and tasty, the fillet steak was perfectly cooked and the prawn toast was delicious, we can’t wait to see what the talented chef puts on the menu next ?

The staff are friendly, helpful and solicitous, but never intrusive - they're just magically there when you need them. I cannot speak highly enough of them (or the Cumberland sausage bap I consumed).Overall an excellent experience. I called in on a whim, but would make a point of revisiting whenever I'm in Kirby Lonsdale.Wheelchair accessibility: There's level access from the street, and they had no problems in accommodating me in a powered wheelchair, although users with mobility issues may wish to note that simply for reasons of space, no wheelchair accessible space or disability adaptations have been available in the toilets.

The Red Dragon
Main St, Kirkby Lonsdale, CarnforthStayed for one night for a whistle-stop visit to the Lakes, followed by football at Fleetwood. The hotel is ideally suited for both, as well as the Yorkshire Dales and Kirby Lonsdale is a very pretty village. Parking isn’t great in the town, with only 1 hour permitted between 8am and 6:30pm. We arrived at just after 6:30 pm and managed to find the last space around the corner with both car parks nearby full. I moved the car in the morning and got one of the few spaces remaining in the Market Square. The Red Dragon was great to stay in and we were very happy with the room and the provision of extras such as water, biscuits and a fan. Slept well, although the duvet was a little thick for me in the summer. The only real downside was that the water was barely warm in the morning and too cold to bath or shower so really I should have reduced my rating but hoping this was a one-off as not mentioned before. Sky Sports in the room would have been nice too. Food in the bar was good, pretty basic, but ticked our boxes and breakfast was good too. . We would definitely stay again to use as a base for exploring the area.

The crossing point cafe
7 Market Square, Kirkby Lonsdale, CarnforthWe stopped by for a quick bite of lunch and it was one of the tastiest toasties I'd had! Service was so friendly and the atmosphere of the place is super welcoming and warm. Fabulous selection of wines too!

Often we find that brewery / beer focussed places have other options as an afterthought, but we particularly love that here seems to do everything well, so non-beer drinkers can really enjoy it too.On our latest visit, we called in late morning for coffee, and enjoyed an excellent cappuccino. I then tried the Devil's Bridge IPA (keg), which is now my preferred KL Brewery offering. My wife ordered a pinot blush rose wine (white zinfandel offered as another option).It was quiet when we first arrived but got very busy later in our visit, as we stayed for a couple of hours. Throughout our visit, the atmosphere was good and staff were friendly and efficient. We didn't eat but we saw food delivered to other tables and it looked very good.

The Orange Tree
9 Fairbank, Kirkby Lonsdale, CarnforthSuch a great pub and restaurant.Annalise was such a great host and made us both feel welcome and told us all about the days menu and offers.There is a great selection of beers and the food is excellent. I got the self build burger which was freshly made by Kate the chef and was incredible.My wife got the prawn cocktail which was so tasty and the biggest portion we’ve ever had.A super friendly pub with great food and great beer.Our 2nd visit on night two was exactly the same. Excellent food, service and beer. Thank you.

2 Mill Brow, Kirkby Lonsdale, CarnforthHave been visiting the hidden gem that is Kirkby Lonsdale for many years now,and visit our favourite spot (Plato's)on a very regular basis!Today we had the best Sunday Roast ever!The entire meal is the best quality ingredients and perfectly cooked and presented,as well as being excellent value.Tony,Jess and all of the staff are so friendly and welcoming,which all makes for a great experience.....which our dog Mojo will testify to?So when in town make sure you go along,and come out with a smile?Enjoy,Liz,Doug &Mojo.Nearby activities: Plato,s location slap dab centre of town,full of independent little shops and beautiful walks from doorstep.Food & drinks: Always busy for food and drinks.....nuff said!

Bar Avanti, 57 Main St, Kirkby Lonsdale, CarnforthThe service was rapid, friendly and the waitresses were polite and professional. Overall the food was excellent (fantastic fish). The deserts were good but not up to the quality of the main. The wine list was good with some very reasonably priced good wines.

We had takeaway croissants for breakfast and they were very tasty.4 of us also ate in the restaurant part, service was good and we all loved our food.
