Derwent Walker Cocktail bar and Restaurant
19 Lake Rd, KeswickWe have visited Derwent Walker a few times, and have always enjoyed everything. We visited again yesterday to try their new Bottomless Brunch, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The food was gorgeous, and the cocktails were genuinely the best I’ve ever had. It’s extremely good value for money, choosing two items from the menu for brunch, plus unlimited cocktails, was just FAB! I was given a QR code filled with cocktails to choose from; they were all incredible. Thankyou DW & team - you made my birthday so special, and everything was just gorgeous. What a gem ❤️

The Pheasant Inn Keswick
Crosthwaite Rd, KeswickMy Son, his girlfriend and I, along with our little dog visited the Pheasant Inn Saturday 21st December 2024 for lunch & were immediately made to feel welcome. The staff were absolutely lovely - even gave our little dog a chew, which was sweet. The log fire and Christmassy atmosphere was just perfect. Food was so good. Can’t wait to return.

Twa Dogs
Penrith Rd, KeswickBeen past this pub loads of times but checked out the menu on line and rang to check they were serving food just incase. Told no problem, how many people and we will keep you a table just in case we get busy. Got there, ordered 5 main courses and drinks, nothing was any problem, food was all delicious and then desserts and a couple more drinks while some in our group played pool and darts. Star of Siam
89 Main St, KeswickDelicious traditional and authentic Thai food. We skipped starters and shared 3 mains with a portion of steamed rice and some Thai crackers. We chose the tamarind duck from the chefs special, a generous portion of perfectly cooked duck bread, chicken red curry and a a chilli, garlic flat rice noodle dish with prawns. All yum! Hubby had a Singa beer which is on draught and I had a glass of rose then we shared a bottle of house red.
Excellent service from lovely staff.

Silk Road
58 Main St, KeswickAs the prices were worryingly affordable for Keswick I had set myself a very low expectation threshold for my sweet and sour chicken and chicken chow mein. Turned out it was completely delicious. The sweet and sour sauce was tangy and loaded with crunchy peppers, onions, carrots and pineapple. The chow mein whilst not over burdened with bean sprouts was full of super tender marinated sliced chicken and spring onions. Both meals were very plentiful, hot and served with a smile in just 20 minutes.
If you’re expecting a Michelin starred gourmet extravaganza of mindblowing authenticity and innovation you’re probably going to be disappointed. If on the other hand you’re after a super tasty, well cooked takeaway for a great price and fab service then you’re in the right place.

26 St John's St, KeswickWe arrived, without a booking, at about 8:45 on a Wednesday evening.
Had to wait about fifteen minutes for a table to become available. The staff were friendly and helpful, and kept apologising for the wait.

We used one of the laminated walks created by Kate, clear instructions and a superb little hike. Fantastic breakfast, with a few nice options not just the traditional full English. We'll be back.

Horse & Farrier
Threlkeld, KeswickA wonderful roadside pub welcoming any weary (and non weary) traveller with superb homecooked food. Just one little niggle and that's on the ale front. The website says it sells local Cumbrian Jennings ales (the brewery is unfortunately long gone). Yes, it does have 5 real ales on offer but only 2 were brewed locally on my visit, the other 3 claiming to be local ales but all brewed in the Midlands (house beer and Wainrights). What would be lovely to see is this pub supporting more local brewers. They aside, very much well worth a visit

23 Main St, KeswickSuper cute coffee shop with a cosy seating area overlooking Keswick's main street.
They have a good selection of beverages and sweet baked goods, of which all looked absolutely mouth-watering!
The Biscoff brownie was to die for and the Snickers blondie is also a dream for anyone with a sweet tooth.
The pumpkin spice latte was a must for me at this time of year and didn't disappoint with its generous topping of whipped cream and Biscoff crumbs.

The Keswick Cheese Deli
9 Packhorse Ct, KeswickThe Keswick Cheese Deli offers a vast array of quality local (and further afield) cheeses from their cute shop in Keswick.
They also offer an exceptional wedding service - our wedding cheesecake request was handled wonderfully well in September 2024 by Hayley, who hand delivered lovely wheels of Coverdale, Blue Whinnow, Smoked Cumberland Farmhouse and Eden Valley Brie along with local Cumbrian chutneys, an artisan savoury biscuit selection and lovely grapes.
Very highly recommended.
