The Old Cobblers Cafe
Main St, Hawkshead, AmblesideThe Old Cobblers Café in the Lake District is a charming and cozy spot that offers a truly delightful experience. The sandwiches are delicious, and the scones are simply a treat—fresh, buttery, and perfect with a cup of tea. I also enjoyed the soup, which was hearty and full of flavor, ideal for a comforting meal. All of this comes at a very reasonable price, making it excellent value for money. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this café is well worth a stop. ?

Hawkshead Tourist Information Centre
Main St, Hawkshead, AmblesideAbsolute game changer!! these electric bikes were fantastic, made the family bike ride much more equal & able to ride longer distances. Myself & sister pre-ordered 2 x medium electric bikes but upon speaking with the shop & giving them our height they advised on ‘small’ bikes, which were perfect. We are both 5’4. The teenagers enjoyed trying them out too. We had 1 red electric & 1 black electric bike which were different to ride, the red felt more solid. I know i’ll be saving up to buy an electric bike after trying them out. The service, helpful advice & quality of bikes was excellent, would highly recommend.
We cycling from Hawkshead to the ferry, over to the Jetty Museum for coffee & cakes & a paddle in Lake Windermere. Myself & sister & kids went back on ferry & along shoreline to Wray Castle, then back to Hawkshead. About 4 hours including stops & Ferry. The others left the Jetty Museum/Cafe & cycled back along the main roads through Lakehead, Ambleside & met us at Wray Castle.
