Must mention the fish pie which I forgot to take pics of - it was packed full of fish , lots.of salmon and served super hot, freshly cooked with lots of green veg. Great choice. Friendly staff every time I have been here, super attentive and always there for you before you need to ask.

The Marton Arms
New Rd, Thornton in Lonsdale, CarnforthWhat an absolute gem of a place. So glad we found this hotel. Check in was super friendly, super easy and very efficient. The room was perfect and can't be faulted in any way. Bar staff are knowledgeable and again very friendly while the bar area and the outside areas are well laid out, comfortable and relaxing. The food is amazing, so much flavour and so well presented and the breakfast sets you up for the day. Well done Heather and the team on creating a venue where one visit is never going to be enough and a special mention to Anita who is so friendly, so attentive and makes what is already a fantastic breakfast even better.

Café Edelweiss
Market St, CarnforthWe stumbled across this cafe on google while looking for somewhere new to try for breakfast. The reviews looked good so we decided to try for ourselves and we were not disappointed.
Simply put, a beautiful, small hidden gem cafe with excellent food and run by lovely, friendly staff. We will definitely come again. Thank you ?

Marina, Tewitfield, CarnforthIt's just a shame I can't give more than 5 stars for the service The manager and his team are amazing couldn't do enough for you we had a slight problem with our room and it was changed in an instant. The food was all well cooked and delicious my husband said the breakfast was the best he had ever eaten . We have stayed here before and will definitely be back .Thank you again for a wonderfull stay .

Food and drinks: Great coctails and extensive bar menu local beers and all bar staff very friendly. Food was delicious and well presented and average price for the area .

I stayed in one of the camping pods, everything was spotless and equipped with a shower, kettle, fridge.
Beanies cooking was so welcome after a day on the peaks, she made me vegan meals from scratch - AMAZING!
Highly recommend.

Three County Catering
Crag House, High Casterton, CarnforthI have just had a fabulous cookery demonstration day with Fiona. I learned so much about cooking techniques and how to cook delicious food, which we got to taste as part of a fabulous lunch and afternoon tea. We were welcomed with coffee and the best cheese scones and ginger biscuits I’ve ever tasted. All in all an amazing day, a satiated appetite and lots of tasty recipes to try at home. We were even given a goody bag with Ingredients and beautiful almond biscuits to take home. I can thoroughly recommend this cookery experience and I hope to do it again very soon! Thank you!!

The Square, Ingleton, CarnforthThe best fish and chips I’ve had in a while - everything was very fresh and oils wash changed recently - the curry was amazing and I must must recommend the mozzarella sticks - handmade and fresh - made to order

The Sweet Shop
The Sweet Shop, 5 Market Square, Kirkby Lonsdale, CarnforthGreat selection, although staff behind the counter use their hands to touch the sweets. I asked for chocolate ginger, I have OCD so threw away the choc ginger as he touched it whilst weighing out. Hygiene with food is important to me. Personally I do not think food should be touched by hands behind the counter, whatever a procedure. Plenty of apparatus on the market. Just an honest review, and my review was not minutes after leaving the shop.

2 Scotland Rd, CarnforthTry not be fooled by the look of this place. Just know this is what most Chinese takeaways look like behind those closed doors. Yes, it looked a little unappealing & not always the best to see all the food being prepared. However, we loved it all! Literally the best salt & chili chips we have ever had! So tasty we have spoken about them a lot since, wishing we had a place like this local to us.
The mains also a very good standard & nothing to grumble at especially with prices we paid.
Two staff working when we collected on a Friday evening & both very friendly & working extremely hard between them with the orders they had coming in.
Great food, great service, just be prepared to see a working kitchen that may make you think twice. Just please do not leave, try the CHIPS!

Greenlands Farm Village, Tewitfield, CarnforthFantastic place!! Large variety of animals that you can handle, barn owls, snakes, chicks, bugs, hedgehog, Guinea pigs, the list is endless! There are also loads more animals and free roaming ones that you can hand feed and really knowledgeable staff! A lovely Farmshop with butchers and a cafe with some lovely food on offer. They also have Lasertag and a Playbarn that we didn’t go in, but so much on offer there! Would highly recommend
