Walton tearoom

A lovely little tearoom we stopped at for a late breakfast when travelling between Newcastle and Scotland. Two ladies running it were lovely and kept the place spotless.

Had a sausage (Cumberland style) and egg roll - lovely. Daughter had a fruit scone and after trying a bit I regretted my choice. Nice hot pot of tea and served oat milk for my wife. One of the locals gave us a quick history lesson of the place.

Will definitely stop again when doing a similar trip.

The White Rabbit Tea Room

Stopped off here while out on my bike and was very glad I did. Great service, super coffee and the Twix tiffin did just the job in giving me a new lease of life to finish my ride. Will definitely be stopping off here again.

Off The Wall

Pop in occasionally, mainly when family are up.Proper Coffee.Can get a bite for lunch!Homebaked, handmade cakes of top patisserie level, never disappoints on the sweet treats and shouldn't be passed on.Servers always fantastic, polite and prompt.Free WiFi.

Working away is part of my life when required and results in staying in some lovely places and unfortunately sometimes not great places.

After travelling 5 hours I arri ed at 7.30pm when I was able to get checked in and then have a table to get something to eat. The food was brilliant. Steak has gone up in price lately but the fillet was cooked perfectly and the food was well worth the price. Some may find it a little expensive but I found it to be great value and a great meal.

The rooms are just as seen on booking.com and I had a great night sleep. With use of the Samsung tv which screen mirrors with ease. I had a great night sleep with the use of additional pillows found I the wardrobe.

They then asked the kitchen staff to come in early so I could have breakfast at 7.30 and be able to set off to work for 8 as they originally had the kitchen staff coming in to serve from 8.30.

The staff at the evening and night are extremely polite and happy.
I think I met the owners in the evening and both were lovely. The staff and pub/restraunt and accommodation is a credit to the owners and a real gem set just outside Carlisle.

Area has lots of walks right from the door.

Rooms: Beautiful large room with view across the valley. Very comfortable bed.

Food and drinks: All the food was gorgeous, stand outs on the tasting menu were the arctic char and venison tartar. Wine pairing for the tasting menu worked very well. Staff all knowledgeable and friendly

the splitscreen barista

The Best coffee we had in the UK, was at Hadrian's Wall from the Splitscreen Barista van. We'd been driving for days, and this was a rare oasis of excellent coffee in a country where it's usuallly instant or weak. We're loved meeting Andrew and we hope he keeps the retirement dream going!

The Nags Head Hotel

Went in one afternoon then punters and staff are very friendly and include us in there banter ( on holiday from Scotland) prices very good took me back to pubs when I was younger (66) now would definitely recommend and Wii definitely go back when in the area thank you all for a lovely afternoon.

Berti's

Very good customer service, very pleasant and chatty staff. Good value for money, good portions and very tasty food. Nice to go to a chip shop that doesn't do pizza, kebabs and burgers. The more traditional chippy in my opinion, will definitely visit again when here ?

Talkin Tarn Tea Rooms

Lovely spot to pick up an ice cream and coffee to take after a stroll around the tarn. Would be brilliant if they reopened upstairs in future for a fuller cafe experience. Staff are very friendly.

Star Anise

YUM! We ate in the restaurant and the food was gorgeous. We had Paneer Pathia which was really tasty and just the right level of spice, plus Chicken Shatkora which was fresh and delicious. Really generous portions and nicely presented. The garlic naan was crisp and fluffy and the pilau rice was perfect. Great service too. Thank you!

Lucky House

We are visiting Brampton and this looked looked a good option after a long day walking Hadrian’s Wall. The phone ordering was easy, service friendly and order correct. Good value for money and portion sizes. Food quality also good. Singapore noodles had just the right curry tang, beef chow mein had tasty meat and good vegetables. Would happily order again.
