The Ring O' Bells
3 Bank St, Saint ColumbOur first time in Cornwall and we were lucky enough to be near Ring O'Bells. Out of our 7 day stay we visited four times! Great selection of drinks including locally made and a cocktail menu. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely amazing. We sampled the Sunday roast, curry night and steak night and it was all mind blowingly tasty....and the puddings.

The landlord loves Man Utd far too much and try’s to get you to support the club he even offers you a beer if you support em…. It worked with me.. ?..

The Silver Ball
Fair St, Saint ColumbThe very last time I was in this pub, was 50 years ago. It was an enigma then and in a small way, remains just the same? Very friendly staff and locals, which in Cornwall is a rare thing.
The food portions are huge and VERY popular with the strong, local population. I didn't eat on this visit, but I'll definitely be trying their Sunday roast...it looks astonishing.
I'm not sure of the exact year, but I'm guessing 1972ish... and the village was in turmoil when a bull escaped from the local market/abattoir. I was safely ensconced in The Silver Ball, whilst the police were called to deal with the bull.
By the way...a pint of Director's real ale is an astonishing £4.20!!! Albeit the abv is now under 4.5%. And while on the subject of ales...it was a real pleasure to watch the landlord cleaning the pipes of his beers. The aforementioned Director's Ale, was absolutely pristine in taste, clarity and presentation. I wish my local pubs had someone with his skillset looking after their cellars and ales.
100% first rate. And this from an ex publican of 18 years.

Tiggy's Tearoom
Trebant, Indian Queens, Saint ColumbReally tasty, reasonably priced food. Had the vegetarian loaded chilli chips which were really nice and tasted homemade.Finished with coffee and cake which was very nice too.Children's play area close by with outdoor seating or you can sit on the other side and watch the alpacas.

5 Bank St, Saint ColumbWent there after our friends we were on holiday with recommended them .they were lovely and fresh and absolutely beautiful. The fish and chips. No frills but who needs them when the food is so good

McDonald's
Fraddon Services, A30, Penhale, Fraddon, Saint Columb13:30 7/10/24 freshest and succulent food i’ve had from mcdonald’s in ages. even the coke was actually fizzy. great customer service from the woman at the drive through window. hope everyone working this shift gets a pay rise because they made this trip a delightful experience.

Parka Rd, Fraddon, Saint ColumbHad chicken kebab, salad and chips, nice. £11.50. Salad was fresh, chicken good quality, decent chips. Decent amount of food, fair price. We turned up at a busy time so there was abit of a wait but I'd come here again next time im in Newquay.

The Lookout Restaurant & Lounge at Retallack Resort
LMMJTMCHRIST, St Columb Major, Saint ColumbThe food was delicious. They were busy and short staffed but they didn't keep us waiting too long and did apologise. It was not a problem for us as we were on holiday and not rushing off. The food was worth waiting for. We did try to book for a second night but no tables available. We were staying in a lodge and would have liked to go again.

Jays Kebab and Pizza House
2A West St, St Columb Major, Saint ColumbOrdered from here when staying in local caravan park. We took a bit of a punt as the reviews aren't great. Girl on the phone was pleasant and helpful, delivery was quick and the driver was great. Ordered mixed kebab and pizza, kebab came with sauces covered in it which I wouldn't normal want but my God was it nice. The garlic and chilli sauces are excellent and the kebab itself was beautiful ( barr a small chicken bone ), pizza was good, nice flavours however would've been better if the base hadn't been pre baked. All in all very good and pleasantly surprised after seeing all the negative reviews.
