Restaurants in Thatcham

The Spotted Dog
Gladstone Ln, Cold Ash, ThatchamWe had a lovely meal in the (big dog friendly) garden. Food was lovely, children's meals ~£7 and includes a scoop of ice cream which was very welcome to the smalls. The play ground was also a good space for them to run around.
Kid-friendliness: Lovely playground in the garden and the menu choices are varied and with good options of potatoes/veg.

The Castle Cold Ash
Cold Ash Hill, Cold Ash, ThatchamWe were booked to stay in the Regency at Thatcham but wanted a good local pub for drinks and dinner. Cold Ash had 2 good looking places but the walk there was up a long incline and took 30mins. The Castle looked the better bet for good ale, food, adult crowd. It was a hot day and a fair walk......was it worth it? 100% YES
From the moment we went in the bar staff were great. Immediate feel of welcome and friendly pub. If youre looking for the kind of inn that we all want to exist in England...this is it.
The ales were spot on, the Sunday Roast and service impeccable and the humour 'to die for'..
We're British and proud. If the rest of our 800 mile round trip to see all the family is as good as this we will be well pleased. Had a great chat with staff and regulars. If you want a really good taste of home look no further. 10 out of
10.

Old Chequers
36 The Broadway, ThatchamDrinking spot. A reasonable pub in a desert of reasonable places. Excellent and cheap bar, olde style, great floor finish and top ladies facilities; all welcome, loads of locals occupying a locals table - they won't put you off if in need of liquid sustenance any time of the aftereve. Darts on the raised carpeted band area. Grey baise on the pool table is the fastest and cleanest I've witnessed yet. £1 a game. Smoking/sun trap garden, parking x c.10 spaces. Variable tunes, very Berkshire, racing coverage ?

The Watermark Restaurant
Regency Park Hotel, Bowling Green Rd, ThatchamStayed at the hotel using a ‘Buy a Gift’ present of an overnight stay with Dinner and Breakfast and the dining experience was brilliant. Nice and friendly service throughout in restaurant and the Bar and the food was really good with a great choice, I had the Pork Belly and it was excellent with little fat and lots of meat. If thinking of eating here and not local would definitely recommend the deal we had as the breakfast here was great as well

Subway
65 Bath Rd, ThatchamVisited today at around 12.30/12.45 all staff polite and despite it being busy inside were very efficient. It was great to hear the guy on the till advise another customer about allergies when they were choosing cookies. Food good and plentiful even if I feel a little overpriced.

Bunk Inn
Curridge, ThatchamWe went for a roast today, it was incredible. Come out all neatly presented and tbh didn’t look like much on the plate. Then you start moving things around and it’s hidden treasures! Couldn’t eat everything but they accommodated this and gave us a takeaway box! Will be back soon to try out the tapas menu!

3 Green Ln, ThatchamSo the wife and I have just had a very large take out from here and whilst I was there I spoke to a really nice guy who said they had just taken over so I thought, ok, let's see if the food is as good as before. Well, I have to say it was much better and, in fact, one of the best Indian Takeaways we have had. This is definitely going to be a regular for us. Excellent.
